Current Course Schedule - Boating Safety Courses
Our Classes are taught at the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Operations Center located at 9 N. Harbor Place Waukegan, IL 60085.Click on the Class Name below for more information and to register via PayPal or you can mail in a registration form and pay by check.
We can also teach a course at your location. Contact the Public Education Officer for more information.
Current Classes
About Boating Safely - $40. Starting in February this single session class will be held on Saturdays throughout the year. These classes meet from 9am until 4pm.
Boating Skills and Seamanship - $75. This is an seven week course that will be taught on Tuesday evenings. The course runs from 7:00PM until 9:00PM each Tuesday.
Weekend Navigator - $75. This is an in depth navigation course divided into two parts. Part I (6 weeks) will teach the fundamentals of navigation. Part I is taught on Wednesday 7-9:00PM. Part II (9 weeks) is a more comprehensive course which builds on Part I. Part II is taught 7-9:00PM Tuesday.
GPS for Mariners - $35 This will be a single session class taught on several Saturdays in March and April from 9:00AM until 12:00PM.
Introduction to Navigation - $25
This will be a single session class on basic navigation. The course
help you to begin your understanding of
piloting, charts, and navigation tools. This class is taught
from 9:00AM until 12:00PM on Saturdays.
Introduction to RADAR - $35 This will be a single session class on basic use of RADAR. The course help you to begin your understanding of your RADAR system and how to best use RADAR to pilot and avoid collisions. This class is taught from 9:00AM until 12:00PM on Saturdays.
